since the hard drive on my trusty little vaio is doing so poorly, until i install the new one i've been using a back-up, an old Dell latitude. which would be fine, except that long-ago viral and spam attacks damaged the system so much that would hardly run. i felt like my arms had been cut off.

i spent three head-bangingly frustrated days trying to coax it to remain operative long enough for me to delete trojans, or run an anti-viral program, and download updates. i haven't been able to check email. i haven't been able to post. i haven't been able to do any research on how to clean up the computer, since the only way i know how to do research these days is online.

but it seems better now. the circulation to my limbs is slowly returning. pardon me if i am late in answering your emails. it won't be long before normalcy is returned.
