on voyager

resting my weary feet from ten days of travel in japan, after the three-week dealership tour trip extravaganza. part of me wishes to just keep travelling forever - to just not stop. stopping seems somehow like copping out.

but it's nice to be back in california, with the taste of autumn in the air.

in other news: jason koxvold's dealership music video is done! and it looks fantastic. thank you, jason.

we'll be screening it on wednesday at the Mile High Club so come by if you get a chance.

with lisa

we were talking about our lives. "do we expect too much, when we expect to be happy?"

she: "are we wrong, or is it the rest of the world?"

we hatched plans to run away together to found an artists' colony in some abandoned wind-swept coastal town.

she gave me a superlotto ticket. but, i haven't won yet.

nose noise

the cat's snoring sounds like a man's. for a moment i was startled, thinking that unbeknownst to me there was some male sleeping in the livingroom.

in france, jesse's dad snored so loudly we could hear him in his upstairs bedroom from our downstairs bedroom.

my dad used to snore so loudly we could hear it through two doors and down the hall.

on tour, i never noticed anyone's snoring. i was way too tired. i fell asleep every night as soon as my head hit the pillow.

jesse used to snore when i first met him. i used to have to punch him softly in the ribs to make him turn over and stop. but i don't think he does, anymore. i'm often awake after he falls asleep and before he wakes up, and although he sometimes makes snuffly sleep noises, he doesn't really sonorously and nobly snore anymore.

has he traded respiratory patterns with the cat?

the cat wheezes and sniffs and snores. she's not even quite asleep. she watches me with one eye open, daring me to make fun of her inelegant noises. in a way, though, snoring is like a version of purring - pleasure in the blissful oblivion of sleep, and assurance to a wakeful partner that you are alive, and happy.

Sunday plans

What are you doing Sunday? We'll be back from the tour by then, and filming a video with Jason (Citizens and Her Space Holiday) Koxvold.

That's where you come in. We need extras for the shoot! So if you're free Sunday evening and want to welcome us back to the Bay Area after our trip by shaking it in a friendly fashion, please come by the Mile High Club Sunday evening. For more details, write me or dealership or Jason Koxvold.

Hope to see you there.

silly, fun, kinda interesting cinematic effects; paced like a videogame. The Rock is a decent comic actor as well as credible action hero. cool fighting scenes.

in spite of some good performances, i couldn't get over the condescending tone. it's a classic case of straight guy pretending to be gay, getting the girl and a better job, and safely being able to declare that he's straight - and escaping thr real problems of homophobia. left me feeling a little icky.

lulu gave me this book. it's magical. set in a fantasy industrial age new york city, suffused with mythology.

a great game. scary. i can't play it unless jesse's home. even then it's hard. i make him play it so i can cower behind the blanket and tell him to watch out for the bad guys. yeah, i'm that much of a wimp.
